Portage Bay is quite secluded so some planning should be done to make your trip as enjoyable as possible.

What to bring

Food (can be purchased but because of the remote location there is a surcharge)

Beach towel and togs

Sun block and sun hat

Sleeping bag (if you don't choose the fully made bed)

Torch (not essential)

Good book

Insect repellent (insects are not much of a problem)

Camera

Warm clothes (for winter walks)

Rain jacket

Sturdy shoes and sandals

General Infomation

There is a general store approximately 5 minutes walk from Debretts. It stocks a bit of almost everything, from plumbing supplies, to bread and ice cream. It also has a take away menu, or enough fresh veg and fruit to make your own dinner or lunch. with really friendly staff who hire all sorts of equipment for you to stay and play for a day or a week.

Portage Resort Hotel has two restaurants that are available to Debretts guests. One is a laid back café, which turns into a bar at night. Portage Hotel has an off licence.  The other is a fine dining restaurants. An award-winning chef runs both restaurants.
