Debretts is located in Portage Bay just off Kenepru Drive. It is accessible by boat, car, and plane.
By Car
Picton – Debretts 1.25 hours
Nelson – Debretts 2 hours
Blenheim – Debretts 1.5 hours
Christchurch – Debretts 5.5 hours
The last 30-40 minutes of this drive is along a twisting, but stunningly scenic road. There are many look out points. You may want to allow time to do this portion slowly and enjoy the views.
By Boat
Picton – Torea Bay 15 minutes.
Water taxis run both scheduled and chartered runs (it is best to book ahead of time). It is a half hour walk over Torea Saddle to Debretts, but a taxi can be arranged by appointment (ask when booking your accommodation).
Havelock – Portage Bay 35 minutes
Water taxis can be arranged. This is a great way to see the Sounds.
By Plane
Wellington – Picton (regular flights by Sounds Air)
The airport is 15 minutes out of Picton. A shuttle will need to be arranged, then transport from Picton to Debretts (see By Boat).
Major New Zealand Airports – Blenheim (frequent daily flights)
30-minute shuttle to Picton, then 15 minute water taxi to Torea Bay.
